Girl, Woman, Other

Bernadine Evaristo

More a collection of interlinked character studies than a conventional novel, this book grabbed my heart and mind. It tells us of various black women, their diverse and fascinating stories going back generations. I am in awe at how Evaristo captures a new and convincing voice for each character regardless of age and background.
